This is tablature — fret positions rather than chord names. Wide lines scroll sideways on their own, so the page never does.

Here's the title song to Rosanne Cash's brilliant latest album.

I'm not entirely sure what the intro riff is, but I think that

it's something along the lines of:

Dsus2 A

e|-----------5-----|-----------5---|-----------5---|-----------5---|
B|-------5-------5-|-------5-------|-------5-------|-------5-------|
G|---7-------------|---7-----------|---6-----------|---6-----------|
D|-7---7---7---7---|-7---7---7---7-|-7---7---7---7-|-7---7---7---7-|
A|-----------------|---------------|---------------|---------------|
E|-----------------|---------------|---------------|---------------|

but I'm not sure. Steuart Smith is very close to being God, and so

I can't tell with a high level of certainty. Plus, the way I've

tabbed it out, the riff is a bitch to play, but then, I'm not very

good. Any corrections are totally welcome.

D A

How long was I alseep?

D A

When did we plan to meet?

D A Bm

Have you been waiting long for me?

D A

When did the sky turn black?

D A

Do you still want me back?

D A Bm

I'll pick it all up piece by piece.

(I'm not sure - this next chord could be Em, but G is used for

ever other chorus, so I'm putting it here)

G A D

And the wheel goes round and round.

G A Bm

And the flame in our souls will never burn out.

G A D

And the wheel, and the wheel goes round.

D A

I am a river with a voice.

D A Bm

And none can judge just how that feels.

D A

You are a messenger from God.

D A

G A D

And the wheel goes round and round.

G A Bm

And the flame in our souls will never burn out.

G A D

And the wheel, and the wheel goes round.

F#m G

I'm not looking for the answers.

F#m G

Oh, darling don't you see

F#m E

That just to know the question

G A

Is good enough for me.

(Solo which is based on a rising D scale, that much I know)

D A

Take up the hearts you came to heal.

D A

Put down your dagger and your shield.

D A Bm

You need fear nothing now from me.

D A

I see the essence of the man.

D A

I stand before you as a friend.

D A Bm

The truth moves through us even when we sleep.

G A D

And the wheel goes round and round.

G A Bm

And the flame in our souls will never burn out.

G A G A

And the wheel, and the wheel goes round.

(Alternate between G and A a few times then back to D with riff)
