SONG: The Garbageman

ARTIST: No Odd Reason

ALBUM: International Dateline (1998, Toolshed Recordings)

Tabbed by: Daniel Field (no_odd_reason@hotmail.com)

Song written by: Jon Meyer and Daniel Field

Lyrics by: Daniel Field

This is a VERY simple song. It has only about four chords in it and

is really really catchy. Like I Know and No Brain, it's a few simple

riffs constructed together to make a song. It's played with a light

distortion.

Intro: (after resting four bars)

E|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------||G
B|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------||U
G|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------||I
D|--5--------------|-----------------|--5--------------|-----------------||T
A|--5--------------|-----------------|--5--------------|-----------------||A
E|--3--------------|-----------------|--3--------------|-----------------||R

Let Ring------------------------- Let Ring-------------------------|

Riff A:

E|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-------------------|G
B|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-------------------|U
G|---------7-7-7---|-5--5--5--5--5---|---------7-7-7---|-5--5--5--5--5-----|I
D|-5--5-5--7-7-7---|-5--5--5--5--5---|-5--5-5--7-7-7---|-5--5--5--5--5-----|T
A|-5--5-5--5-5-5---|-3--3--3--3--3---|-5--5-5--5-5-5---|-3--3--3--3--3-----|A
E|-3--3-3----------|-----------------|-3--3-3----------|-------------------|R

REPEAT X2

The whole verse is on a G.

Words:

He wakes up at 4 a.m.

Just to do his job.

He isn't a poor guy.

But he isn't a slob.

Prechorus:

F G

Leave your bags out he'll do the rest,

F

For a living he does his best,

G

He doesn't like it but he gets payed

So he can live life his own way.

Chorus: Riff A with these lyrics:

Have sympathy

For the garbageman

He does what he should

So lets give him a hand.

Verse 2:

He ain't got a social life

'Cause he smells real bad,

He's got no real family,

So it makes him real sad.

Then you go to the prechorus, then the chorus, then it starts all over

again. After that there's a bridge. It goes:

E|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-------------------|G
B|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-------------------|U
G|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-------------------|I
D|-5--5--5--5--5---|-5--X--X---------|-5--5--5--5--5---|--5---X---X--------|T
A|-5--5--5--5--5---|-5--X--X---------|-5--5--5--5--5---|--5---X---X--------|A
E|-3--3--3--3--3---|-3--X--X---------|-3--3--3--3--3---|--3---X---X--------|R

Repeat X2

Then the chorus again.
