Wes plays the verse riff by using his 2nd and 3rd fingers of

his picking hand to tap on the 12th and 14th frets on the detuned E and D

strings, respectively. He holds the pick with his thumb and 1st finger while

doing this. The other notes are sounded with the fretting hand.
