Song

Artists: Jamiroquai

Title: Alright

Album: Travelling Without Moving

Bass Player: Stuart Zender

This Transcription: Lawrence Docherty

This is a deceptively easy number. Keep those disco octaves rock-steady, and

in the sliding section try and add a bit of swing

into the bassline, get yourself grooving ;o)

Brief key: 3/5 means slide from fret 3 to 5,

X means muted note on corresponding string,

3h5 means hammer-on from fret 3 to fret 5

Intro. (Note - all notes softly plucked (I use my thumb for this section)

and each note not marked X must last!!!)

(There are some stray muted notes in here as well, listen to the

record for timing!)

E|--------|-3------|--------|5-------|--------|-3------|--------|5-------|

then into...

Main Riff. (Note - the octaves are all played staccato, i.e. abruptly or

sharply. Use thumb and middle fingers, it's the easiest way to play these

disco-type things. Some of the notes are slid into: I'll mark those with a *.

This riff crops up a lot throughout the song. I'll only write it down once though.)

E|--------|3-3-3-3-|--------|5-5-5---| repeat lots of times :)

Variations on main riff. (Note - played later on in the song. Various ones,

the three main ones are here. Fiddle with these to get the rest!)

The end. Same as the start but play the notes staccato a couple of times

instead of once softly. No tab required ;)
